“Write about what disturbs you, particularly if it bothers no one else.”

JOURNALIST.EXPERIENCED. DETERMINED. TRUSTWORTHY.
As an unapologetic extrovert, I have spent most of my life communicating with others. While attending college at the University of Oklahoma, I found my passion for communicating with writing, while broadening my reporting experience to broadcast and online mediums, as well. Recently awarded Gaylord College's Outstanding Journalism Senior, my work in and out of the school has prepared me to enter the journalism profession upon graduation. As a student, I have gained real-world experience while working as a congressional reporter for Gaylord News Washington, a wire service that serves the entire state of Oklahoma. I have previously worked at NBC News in New York as a news fellow, and I recently finished a remote news internship with Bloomberg News. Serving as the president of OU's chapter of the Native American Journalists Association and the secretary for OU's chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, leadership has been a passion of mine over the last four years. I was the campus correspondent for Her Campus OU, the largest online magazine for college women in America. I was a member of OU’s President’s Leadership Class, and I was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where I had been involved with multiple committees and volunteer opportunities since my freshman year. In addition to all of this, I am a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, and I am committed to embracing the diverse individuals, communities and stories that come my way. |
